"The Conservation Leadership Programme gave us awards that will enable us to continue our efforts in conserving the biodiversity of an amazing array of habitats; through training workshops, it also provided us with many tools to accomplish our goals. The programme also gave us the unique opportunity to share all that, and the passion that moves us, with a large group of other young researchers and to discover in them new kin, members of our own family." ~Mauro Lucherini
Welcome to the CLP Alumni home page! Since 1985, the Conservation Leadership Programme has supported young conservationists across the globe through awards, training and advice. We now hope to expand our capacity-building program by offering continued support through an alumni network. This network provides opportunities for past winners to stay in touch with one another and stay up-to-date on CLP news, take advantage of follow-on opportunities for project funding, and offers additional support for training and capacity development.
- CLP News: Sign up to receive CLP's quarterly e-newsletter that provides news from the programme manager, information on upcoming conferences and events, and updates from our current projects in the field. Send an email to Robyn Dalzen at clp@birdlife.org if you have information about conservation advances in your project area or upcoming conferences, workshops or training programs that you would like to include in the next issue.
- Update Contact Info: Please keep CLP informed of any changes to your contact information by completing the Contact Information Form so that you can continue to receive CLP materials and updates.
- Conservation Follow-up and Conservation Leadership Awards: Following the successful completion of CLP award winning projects, teams have the opportunity to apply for additional funding in the form of Conservation Follow-up and Conservation Leadership Awards. Awards are offered annually with a December deadline. Applicants can apply for Conservation Follow-up awards for an amount up to $25,000; and more substantial support is offered to two first-rate projects through Conservation Leadership awards. These awards (up to $50,000) are designed for teams that have expanded on previous project successes by creating longer-term, conservation focused initiatives. All past winners are eligible to apply for these awards.Click here for more information.
- Alumni Grants: In order to support the continued growth and development of CLP winners, individual team members are eligible to apply for an Alumni Grant. These funds may be used to attend conferences, workshops, and short-term training courses offered by universities and other institutions that will enhance conservation locally in the regions in which individuals and/or teams are working/living. Grants are awarded twice a year and requests may not exceed $1,250.
- Get Involved: There are many ways in which you can stay involved with the Conservation Leadership Programme. Click here to learn more.
- Publish Your Data: If you are interested in publishing the findings of your research and need help in doing so, please let us know and we will do all we can to put you in contact with the right people. Email us at clp@birdlife.org
